This 18V Li-ion battery replaces the original pack on the LUX-TOOLS A-KS-18Li/25 cordless power tool platform. It delivers 5000mAh (90Wh) capacity and fits the A-KS-18Li/25 tool directly via the original slide-rail connector and BMS handshake. If the original pack no longer holds charge or fails mid-job, this unit slots in as a direct swap.

  • A-KS-18Li/25 platform fit: The A-KS-18Li/25 uses an 18V rail with a slide-mount connector and a proprietary BMS communication line. This battery matches that connector geometry and BMS protocol the tool recognises it without modification or adapter.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated high-inrush trigger pulls simulating drill and saw motor starts. The BMS held the overcurrent threshold steady across cycles and did not trip under standard start loads.
  • Break-in load protocol: On first use, run the tool at half load for two cycles before full-torque applications. This lets the BMS log the motor’s inrush current profile and set accurate overcurrent protection thresholds before you push maximum draw.

BMS Cutoff on Motor-Start Inrush Surge

Cordless saws and drills draw a current spike the moment the trigger is pulled often three to five times the running current. If the BMS has not yet profiled the motor, it can read that spike as a fault and cut power instantly. This is not a defective battery; it is the protection circuit doing its job without calibration data. Running two half-load cycles first gives the BMS the reference it needs to distinguish a normal start surge from a genuine short-circuit event.

Charger Refusing to Recognise the Pack After Storage

Li-ion packs that sit unused can self-discharge below the charger’s minimum acceptance voltage typically around 2.5V per cell. When that threshold is crossed, most LUX-TOOLS chargers blink red and refuse to initiate a charge cycle rather than risk charging a deeply discharged cell. A battery recovery charger or a charger with a “boost” or “wake” mode can bring the cell voltage back above the acceptance floor. Once each cell reads above 2.8V, a standard charger will recognise the pack and begin a normal charge cycle.
